Cheltenham Town goalkeeping coach Pat Mountain has left the club in order to take on a full-time role with Coca-Cola League Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Mountain joined the Robins during the 2005-06 promotion season and has worked with goalkeepers Shane Higgs, Scott Brown and Will Puddy since then.

He has combined his role at Cheltenham with coaching the Hereford United goalkeepers and some educational work in his native South Wales. However, the former Cardiff City and Newport County goalkeeper will now go full time at Molineux.

"Pat has done an excellent job since he has been with us," said manager Keith Downing, himself a former Wolves coach.

"All our goalkeepers have benefited from the work he has done with them and he has been an important part of the backroom team.

"This is a great opportunity for him to further his career and we wish him all the best for the future."
