Two more trialists are training with Cheltenham Town this week and a third is being lined up to play in tomorrow's (August 5) final pre-season friendly against Cirencester Town (7.30pm).

Former Fulham and Birmingham City striker Geoff Horsfield trained with the Cheltenham Town squad today along with former Bristol City trainee Callum Hart.

Hart is a young midfielder or defender who spent last season with AFC Bournemouth, while Horsfield, 34, is currently a free agent having ended last season with Sheffield United and is looking to extend an illustrious career that has featured transfers for a combined total of £5.75million and 107 league goals from 255 starts.

Horsfield began his career in non-league football and played for several clubs before springing to prominence with Halifax Town in the season they won the Conference championship. A £300,000 move to Fulham followed shortly afterwards and he subsequently moved to Birmingham City, Wigan Athletic, West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United. While at Bramall Lane Horsfield spent time on loan with Leeds United, Leicester City and, in the second half of last season, Scunthorpe United.

"Geoff is just training with us at the moment," said Robins manager Keith Downing.

"He has not done a lot in pre-season but we're having a look at him and he's having a look at us. When fully fit he is a very good players so we're going to see how we get on with it."

Horsfield is unlikely to play against Cirencester although Hart and former Swindon Town defender Andy Nicholas have been pencilled in to play.

Central defender Shane Duff will also start the game having missed the last two weeks of training with a thigh injury.

Meanwhile, Downing has ended his interest in former QPR and Cardiff City midfielder Richard Langley.

"Richard is a good player but he's similar to what we have at the moment and I need something a bit different," he explained.
