Carson named in WBA squad for tonight
England international goalkeeper Scott Carson is included in the West Bromwich Albion squad for tonight's (July 23) pre-season friendly at Whaddon Road.
Carson joined the Baggies in a £3.25million move from Liverpool last week and new £1.4million signing Marek Cech is also set to feature. Cech is a Slovakian international left-sided player signed from FC Porto.
The Baggies' squad will also include a host of other first team players including Jonathan Greening, Carl Hoefkens, Leon Barnett, Chris Brunt, Craig Beattie and Ishmael Miller.
Cheltenham Town manager Keith Downing is set to start with the following line-up with Swiss trialist Grégory Duruz on the substitutes' bench: Shane Higgs; Jerry Gill, Michael Townsend, Shane Duff, Alan Wright; Andy Lindegaard, David Bird, Alex Russell, Scott Brown; Ashley Vincent, Paul Connor.
The new all yellow change kit will be on sale for the first time tonight in the club shop. The team will not be wearing the yellow kit in the match as we are still waiting to receive a consignment of shirt numbers from the Football League's suppliers.
Don't forget that admission prices for tonight are only £10 for adults and £5 concessions anywhere in the ground apart from the C&G Stand, which will be closed for the three pre-season friendlies.
In addition, supporters who attend the West Brom game and join our new membership game will be able to watch our next two pre-season friendlies for the price of one. For more details click here.
