Yates: Attitude Must Be Right

7 November 2013

Robins chief Mark Yates believes his players must go into this weekend's game with the right attitude.

Mark Yates speaking to the media ahead of the FA Cup clash away at Tamworth:

"There is very little between the two divisions and they (Tamworth) have a lot of ex-pros playing but we know a lot about them because we've done our homework and we have had them watched. It's going to be tough game but we're used to games like that so our attitude must be spot on. It's a nice tight pitch and it looks decent from what I have seen of it. They'll be doing everything they can to cause a little upset and knock a league team out. Our attitude must be spot on, we need to cut out any mistakes and keep playing as we currently are.

"Tamworth have some very good experienced players and they have some big lads too so they will be a massive threat from set pieces. If we turn up with the wrong attitude, show any sign of weakness or think we're better than this then that is when you get found out. We have told them what it's going to be like, that they're going to get stick and about the changing rooms (portacabins). We have no right to turn our noses up at anything so we will go there and try to do as professional job as we can. We'll try to be as good as we have been in recent games but just without conceding silly goals.

"A lot of my players have played at Tamworth and I think it is helpful. It's going to be a tough place to go and their crowd will really get behind them.

"A cup run would be important. We have been fortunate over the past couple of years to have hit a couple of big boys in the third round which has helped massively. We'll aim to get as far as we can once again but our focus is only on the next game and that is Tamworth. You can't think beyond it and it must be the focus and my players will do that.

"Tamworth have some talented individuals and some experience players but our players will know what they need to know about them. It's about out attitude and willingness to get through into the next round and that is the aim."
