Yates: Earn A Result

Mark Yates looks ahead to this weekend's Sky Bet League Two encounter with Dag & Red.

Cheltenham chief Mark Yates speaking to the press earlier today ahead of the weekend's game with Dag & Red:

"I managed to get a couple answers off him (Tuesday's referee) and he said what I thought he would say to be fair. He surprised me with a couple of things but it's gone and forgotten about. We had to do a report, we've sent that away and that is the end of the matter. It was a frustrating night in many ways but we've got to put that to bed.

"An experienced player like Jason Taylor can still learn and he can do so off the back of that (red card). It's about preparing for Dagenham now, making sure we're ready, being as calm and collected and making sure our focus is on looking forward.

"I would certainly hope we can have Asa (Hall) back in the time of Jason's suspension. It won't be the next two Saturdays but hopefully after that we'll see some light at the end of the tunnel with Asa. Lee (Vaughan) will try to join in today but Saturday will probably be too soon for him.

"I thought the fans were fantastic on Tuesday night and they knew that the players were putting in a real shift to stay in the game. Even in the 93rd and the 94th minute we still had a chance of getting something so that's credit to the players. It wasn't to be so we have to go again on Saturday.

"It doesn't matter who you play. You say Dagenham have lost their last two but so have we and we are still want to put in a performance at Whaddon Road to excite the fans and to get back to winning ways. We must work on getting a positive start and do the things we have worked on in training that got us the pleasing start we have talked about. It is a tough league and we must earn what we get on Saturday but I have every confidence and belief that we'll do that.

"By all accounts this season is going well for him (Jamie Cureton). He's scored a few goals and he put in a great cross last week that I saw on the highlights show. We know what a good player he is and he had a decent season him self here so we will be mindful of that but they have other good players as well. They play with pace and energy and I know things haven't quite gone for them this season but I'm sure Wayne (Burnett) will get them going and turn that around."
