Mark Yates happy with a point after the Robins came back to draw 1-1.
Cheltenham chief Mark Yates speaking to the press following the 1-1 draw at Oxford:"I do think it was a fair point. We created a few problems of our with a few scrambles at the end but I'm actually a little disappointed we didn't get more from the game. We had some really good chances in the second half but we showed a lot of character to come back against a decent side and got something out of it when we could have dropped and faded away. It was strength in character and some clinical finishing from Jamie (Cureton).
"Jamie nearly scoed beforehand and hit the post. We've given away possession and Stevie (Elliott) was a bit unlucky and I understand what he was trying to do. Unfortunately he has tried to play with it, it took three deflections and the lad is in and has scored. We didn't deserve that but we then had a couple of good chances ourselves. Zack Kotwica was nice and positive when he came on and there were lots of good things. Jermaine (McGlashan) had a quiet game by his standards and theirlad marked him out of the game really well. We weren't as good as Saturday in terms of our football we played but we dug in there and it was a good point.
"We toyed with the idea of making a couple of changes but we just thought the performance on Saturday was god enough to merit another game with the same eleven. I just thought some of the decisions we made weren't quite good enough in the first half but we got into them and played some decent football at times. It was an alright performance and it has got us a point so we must keep picking them up as quickly as we can.
"We weren't brilliant tonight but it was a good battling point against a side in the top seven."
