All eight of the teams that hosted matches on Saturday 1 March remained unbeaten – and that sequence stretched to nine on Monday night.

Prostate Cancer UK is the Official Charity Partner of The Football League and from now until mid-April, 62 clubs will raise money and awareness.

And across the three divisions on Saturday afternoon, there were five wins and three draws on the designated days. 

In the Championship there was a 4-0 win for Watford against Blackpool while Ipswich Town edged to a 1-0 win over Birmingham City.

League One saw the biggest victory of the day as Rotherham United thrashed Notts County, 6-0 while in League One Plymouth Argyle sealed a 5-0 success against Morecambe at Home Park. There was also a win for the Robins at home to Bury here at the Abbey Business Stadium. Goals from Ashley Vincent and Byron Harrison made it a day to remember with a 2-1 scoreline.

The first match of Saturday afternoon saw Queen Park Rangers hit back to share the spoils against Leeds United in a 1-1 draw in a live-on-Sky clash at Loftus Road.

Southend United were pegged back for a 1-1 draw against Wycombe Wanderers and also in League Two, there was s scoreless stalemate between Dagenham & Redbridge and Mansfield Town.

Also in the division, the first Men United matchday under the lights came at the Proact Stadium when leaders Chesterfield and Portsmouth fought out a 0-0 draw on Monday evening.

Prostate Cancer UK Director of Fundraising, Mark Bishop, said: “We couldn’t help but notice from the first batch of games that all of those teams supporting Men United were unbeaten.

“Prostate cancer kills one man every hour in the UK with one in eight men likely to be diagnosed with the disease at some point in their lifetime. We can’t guarantee success for your team on the pitch but win, lose or draw by being a part of Men United you are making sure men’s health is the ultimate winner.”

As part of Men United v Prostate Cancer, men - and women - are encouraged to go online to search Men United and to get involved by testing their knowledge of the disease with a simple quiz, and signing for the team. They can also pledge their allegiance by proudly wearing the charity’s iconic ‘Man of Men’ pin badge and can also sign for Men United via an online test.

Here at Cheltenham Town we held a bucket collection in aid of Prostate Cancer UK on Saturday but former Robins captain Shane Duff is also taking part in the London to Amsterdam cycle challenge in aid of the charity.
