Ticket Price Increase

14 May 2013

Matchday ticket prices will increase by £1 across the Abbey Business Stadium in 2013-14.

Matchday ticket prices will increase by Ā£1 next season in an effort to increase Mark Yates' playing budget but the effect will be to make season tickets even better value for money.

As the Robins continue their search for promotion to League One the Board have introduced their first increase to matchday prices in five years. It is the second stage in the new ticketing policy which next season will offer free football to all junior school children and reduced prices for ages 12-18 and full time students along with just a Ā£5 increase on all season tickets.

"There is no doubt that increased investment in the playing budget has in part contributed to our success and for the coming season the Board once again wants to give the manager the best playing budget that it can,ā€ said Club Chairman Paul Baker.

"Increasing ticket prices is never an easy option, which is why we have held prices now for some years. However the costs of running the club increase year on year and to remain a sustainable business we must cover these increased costs.

"Despite huge success in the past two seasons, despite holding prices and despite our significant profile within Gloucestershire, attendances remain disappointing. We are taking a risk by implementing this small percentage price increase but fans can be reassured it is being used solely to support the playing budget."

2013-14 Season Tickets are now on sale and the club has been delighted with the uptake on the new season ticket offer and the response from younger supporters and families to the new plans.

"We want to encourage younger fans to football and at the same time reward our loyal supporters who cheer us on season after season and we have done as much as we can to help them," pointed out Paul Baker.

The new prices will bring extra value to season ticket holders who can take advantage of the early bird offer this month which could buy them a seat in the main stand for all league games for just Ā£15.22 a game or a place on the terraces for just Ā£11.74 ā€“ a massive saving for supporters looking to back the Ruby Robins throughout the 2013-14 campaign.

Following on from the success of the season which saw the Robins enter into the play-offs for the second year running and reach the 3rd Round of the FA Cup again, the club will also be retaining its ā€˜Premiumā€™ match pricing for the biggest games throughout the season.

"Our only aim is to bring as much success to the town, the local community and the club as possible and we hope our fans will recognise this and once again show their true support." added Paul Baker.
