SU2C Charity Car Boot

14 September 2014

Support Cancer Research UK with a car boot sale here at Whaddon Road in October.

The Cheltenham Local Committee for Cancer Research is looking for public support at their forthcoming charity Car Boot sale which will take place here at Whaddon Road on the Sunday 19 October.

Part of the Stand up to Cancer campaign is due to be televised live on Channel 4 on Friday 17 October and people are being encouraged to bring along their cars and items to sell.

Cars will be charged at just £5 (payable on entry) and the committee would be very grateful of any donations made from your day’s profits. There will be hot & cold refreshments available on the day, as well as a Stand up to Cancer goody bag for the car booters. If you are not able to bring a car, please come along to browse.

Local fundraising manager James Rogers said “1 in 3 people will develop cancer at some point in their lives, so events like these are vital to raise much needed funds to continue the research.

“Sooner or later, we will beat cancer. By bringing a car load of your unwanted items or just coming along to browse and buy - you can help make that day sooner. We are very grateful to Cheltenham Town FC for allowing us to use their car park for this event.”

The car boot will open to cars from 9am and to members of the public from 10am. All money raised on the day will go towards funding pioneering new research into Cancer.
