In Pictures: Robins 1, Southend 2

6 April 2014

Check out the images from this weekend's 2-1 loss at home to Southend United.

It was a familiar scenario for the Robins this weekend as they through a lead away once again to lose 2-1 at home to Southend United.

It is now 31 points thrown away from winning positions but it could have been so different had the Cheltenham Town players held their nerve against play-off hunters Southend.

An even first half of football saw chances for both sides with Matt Richards and Kevan Hurst both forcing saves from either goalkeeper but it was Robins top goalscorer Byron Harrison that broke the deadlock with a wonderful finish on the edge of the area just seconds before half time.

That breakthrough should have handed the Robins all the confidence they needed to go on to record a positive result but the departure of David Noble through injury had a clear impact and the home side soon buckled under pressure. Goals from Barry Corr and the impressive Kevan Hurst in quick succession sealed all three points with only teenage winger Zack Kotwica producing any kind of late threat for Cheltenham Town.
