Roofe Loan Extended

9 January 2014

Kemar Roofe will be appearing in the Ruby & White of Cheltenham Town for at least another month.

The paperwork has been completed signalling a one month loan extension on Kemar Roofe's spell here at the Abbey Business Stadium.

We revealed this morning via the club's official Twitter account (@CTFCofficial) that Mark Yates has agreed a deal with West Bromwich Albion to extend Kemar Roofe's loan spell by a further month and that has now been confirmed following the completion of the paperwork.

Kemar, 21, initially signed on loan at the end of November and has since made five appearances before the Robins as well as scoring his first professional goal in the 2-2 draw at home to Hartlepool United. Mark Yates has been in negotiations with West Brom caretaker manager and former Robins boss Keith Downing regarding the transfer and the gaffer admitted he was delighted to have kept hold of the attacking midfielder.

"He has made an impact for us and hopefully he can continue to do that," said Mark.

"The loan slightly changes because he turned 21 last week unfortunately so it looks like we only have a three month window of having him now and that is unfortunate but we are delighted to have got him for the next month and maybe a third month."

Kemar will now be available for selection away at Burton Albion this weekend alongside Zack Kotwica who is available for selection again following his loan spell out at non-league Gloucester City.

Kemar Roofe will be available for selection this weekend and you can get odds of 9/1 for the attacking midfielder to score first at Burton. Sign up to Sky Bet using www.skybet.com/cheltenham and you can pick up a FREE matched bet of up to £30 whilst benefiting the Robins.
