Roofe Departs

4 February 2014

West Bromwich Albion loanee Kemar Roofe has returned to his parent club.

Attacking midfielder Kemar Roofe has opted to return to West Bromwich Albion following two months on loan with the Robins.

Roofe's loan deal expired today and he spoke to Mark Yates personally following training yesterday afternoon. Kemar is coming to the end of his contract with West Brom and he told Mark that he wanted to return to the Hawthorns in an effort to impress new manager Pepe Mel.

"Kemar wants to be in his manager's eyes as he is near the end of his contract," explained Mark.

"He wanted to go back and there is no point in me keeping a player here who does not want to be here so we move on. The loan window opens back up on Friday so it's possible we could move for another loan player when it does reopen."

Kemar, 21, made 9 appearances for the Robins since the end of November when he joined the club on loan. During that time he scored one goal in the 2-2 draw at home to Hartlepool which was his first goal in professional football.
