Noble: Injury Was So Frustrating

7 March 2014

On loan midfielder David Noble discusses his frustrating spell on the sidelines with injury.

It has been a long time coming but David Noble will be back in the Cheltenham Town squad this weekend.

The on loan Rotherham midfielder had been making a big impression before a problem with a tendon in his hamstring kept him sidelined since the end of 2013. The 32-year-old is set to be named on the substitutes bench against Portsmouth this weekend away at Fratton Park and he admitted his injury problems have been highly frustrating.

"It has been murder for me," said David.

"It's been horrible to be honest. For the first few weeks I thought I'd be alright for next weekend but then there was no improvement. We found out what the problem was and it was going to take time and now it's a case of managing it."

13 games to go in Sky Bet League 2 and David Noble still could make a big impact on the Robins' season and perhaps there is no better place to make his return that than a noisy and atmospheric Fratton Park.

Any footballer revels in playing in big atmospheric games and David is no different.

"I've heard they (Portsmouth) have sold quite a few tickets," he said.

"I love playing in bigger games and that is what everyone wants to play football for. We want to play in front of big crowds and not one man and his dog over the park so it will be a big game."

Cheltenham Town to win this weekend currently gives you odds of 13/8 on Sky Bet. Sign up today using www.skybet.com/cheltenham and you can earn a FREE matched bet of up to £30 whilst earning £10 for the Robins.
