Jermaine McGlashan Departs Cheltenham Town

16 May 2014

Jermaine McGlashan will leave Whaddon Road after turning down the offer of a new contract.

We can confirm this evening that Jermaine McGlashan will not be signing a new contract here at Cheltenham Town.

Jermaine informed Mark Yates of his decision earlier this evening and will now depart Whaddon Road after spending over two years with the Robins to look for a new club.

McGlashan made 116 appearances for the club since joining in January 2012 from Aldershot Town and he scored 13 goals in that time. The winger played a major role in helping the Robins reach Wembley in 2012 and had a solid season in the 2012-13 season.

Jermaine, 26, failed to hit the form he had previously shown during the 2013-14 season but was one of the first players to have been offered a contract although he has now informed Mark Yates that he will be declining the offer of a new contract.

Mark Yates confirmed earlier this week that he was closing in on his first signing of the summer and the club will now pursue other targets following Jermaine's decision.
