Robins Sign Lee Lucas

30 January 2014

Swansea City midfielder Lee Lucas has joined Cheltenham Town this morning.

Swansea's young midfielder Lee Lucas has joined the Robins on an initial one month loan deal subject to international clearance.

The 21 year-old arrives in time to face Northampton Town in Sky Bet League 2 this weekend and if held in high esteem amongst the backroom staff at the Liberty Stadium.

Lucas, who hails from Aberdare, won the inaugural Youth Development Player of the Year Award for 2009/10 and Mark Yates believes he has what it takes to fight for a first team spot at the Abbey Business Stadium.

"Lee is a player we have had an eye on for a while whilst he has been playing with Swansea's U21 side," said Mark.

"He is a good player and a very good passer of the ball. We assessed the squad and he is something that we need so he is here to compete and play."

Lee is a talented midfielder who was offered a professional contract by the Swans for the 2010-11 season and he signed a three year deal in the summer of 2012 which would seem playing his football with the Premiership side until at least 2015.

He has appeared on loan in League Two once before with Burton Albion last season but his spell with the Brewers was cut short through injury and he managed just one appearance.

Lee will be available for selection at home to Northampton Town this weekend.
