Keith Joins York

21 November 2013

Keith Lowe has today joined York City on loan with the view to a permanent move.

Robins defender Keith Lowe has today joined York City on an initial loan deal until January.

Keith, 28, trained with the Minstermen this morning and is available to play for his loan club away at Southend in Sky Bet League 2 this weekend.

The popular defender moves to York on loan with discussions between both clubs with regards to a permanent transfer in January and Mark Yates admitted it was the right time for both Keith and Cheltenham Town.

"Keith has been a good servant to this club over the last few seasons," said Mark.

"The time is right for both ourselves and Keith because he needs to be starting games week in and week out at this stage in his career. Keith goes with our best wishes and we wish him the best of luck at York."

Keith re-signed for the Robins back in the summer of 2010 after previously having spells with the club on loan from Wolves under John Ward. His permanent move to Cheltenham Town in 2010 followed spells with clubs such as Port Vale, Kidderminster and Hereford United.

The popular defender, who could play at right back as well as in a central position, currently has 151 appearances in all competitions for Cheltenham Town and he has scored 9 goals during that time.
