Jombati: Morecambe Will Be Aggressive

5 December 2013

Sido Jombati expecting a tough encounter against an aggressive Morecambe side.

Sido Jombati has been part of an improving Cheltenham defence recently, but it will be a different ball game up North this weekend.

Morecambe host the Robins at the Globe Arena on Saturday with both sides in similar league positions but Jim Bentley's side will be keen to avenge their 3-0 defeat here at the Abbey Business Stadium back in October.

The home side will miss Kevin Ellison this weekend but Sido is still expecting a tough game although he believes it's the right kind of game for the Robins right now.

"Everybody knows that Morecambe have a 'nasty' side to them and they are an aggressive team to play," he explained.

"The manager is always shouting from the touchline so it will be an aggressive game but one we need. We need to win in difficult places because winning there will help confidence.

"We drew against Southend but this is what gives  you confidence because you expect a hard game and if you win then it gives you the confidence we need."

The point picked up away at Southend was no less than the Robins deserved after a good performance away in Essex.

The players enjoyed the evening together for a night out celebrating Christmas ahead of what is going to be a busy schedule and Sido admitted that the time spent together was just what they needed to solidify a good spirit amongst the squad.

"We had a Christmas doo which we enjoyed a lot because it brought us together and made everyone feel part of the team - even the ones that aren't playing right now," said Sido.

"An example would be Russ Penn, the fans love him because he puts a shift in but at the moment he is on the bench. He is our captain but he is smiling all the time. At the moment the place is full of confidence and we just need to carry on our run. Everybody is happy"
