Howarth: We Go To Burton With Confidence

7 March 2013

Neil Howarth believes it will be a tough game between two in-form teams

Assistant manager Neil Howarth speaking to the media ahead of Saturday's away match against Burton Albion...

"It's nice to be in the top three at the minute but it's so tight and things could change over the next few weeks. If we could finish in the top three come the end of the season it will certainly be good.

"I'm sure the teams around us will be disappointed that we managed to get a late winner on Tuesday night but as I say, things are so tight and may change over time. But if we can get a bit of consistency between now and the end of the season, hopefully we'll stay up there.

"Since we won 6-5 at Burton a few seasons ago we've had a big turnover of players and certainly improved on and off the pitch as well. We feel like we're a good club at the moment and things are going well in all areas. It's been a good couple of years.

"Burton have a really good home record and some good recent results. They are on the back of a bad result though but their home fans have certainly kept them up there this season.

"Gary Rowett has done a great job there having to follow Nigel Clough, after all the club's success and sometime that can be difficult. He's the got the job full time, he's kicking on again and has a great squad. They have a better home than away record but the fact that they're right up there in the league doesn't surprise me.

"They're a great club and it's a really friendly place to go when you turn up as the opposition. They look after you and do everything right and they do it right on the pitch too. They like to play football and it's a good set-up there.

"I thought we played really well against Burton earlier in the season and deserved to win the game but we scored late which showed it was a tight game.

"Burton have some good players and are on a high at the moment, bar last week, but we're doing okay ourselves. We're looking to build on a good unbeaten record and can go there on Saturday with a bit of confidence ourselves.

"Darren Carter should be okay for the game. He came off on Tuesday night with a little niggle but he's been seen to and should be okay."
