Hartlepool Rewind

29 August 2014

Look back on our last meeting with Hartlepool United awayat Victoria Park.

Cheltenham Town host Hartlepool United this weekend aiming to stretch their unbeaten league form to five games.

Hartlepool however recorded an impressive win away at AFC Wimbledon last weekend and will be looking to build foundations with back-to-back wins. The bookies have Cheltenham Town down as favourites but Mark Yates has moved quickly to stress his side will not take the visitors lightly.

Our previous encounter with Colin Cooper's side was back in March away at Victoria Park. The Robins ran out 1-0 winners courtesy of a Jermaine McGlashan strike - one of his final finest moments as a Robins player.

104 Robins had made the long journey to support their team at Victoria Park and what they watched was an enthralling game of football that could have gone either way but Sido Jombati's backpost cross in the 74th minute gave Jermaine McGlashan a golden opportunity to snatch all three points with a close range finish. The players celebrated with the fans but there was some last ditch defending that was needed as Hartlepool seeked an equaliser. On this occasion however it was Cheltenham Town who took the spoils.
