Harry Williams and Bobbie Dale Turn Professional

28 May 2014

Young duo Harry Williams and Bobbie Dale have today signed their first professional contracts.

Both Harry Williams and Bobbie Dale have put pen to paper on their first professional contracts this afternoon.

The young duo have secured one year contracts after signing the relevant paperwork here at Whaddon Road this afternoon.

Harry, 18, scored almost 40 goals from a midfield position in youth and reserve team football last season. He was also named the Young Player of the Year in the end of season awards announced ahead of kick off on the final day of the League Two campaign.

Harry made his professional debut as a substitute in the 3-0 win over Morecambe in October but made his full debut in the 1-1 draw away at Exeter in April. He has now made 5 appearances in total for the Robins.

Harry is a Cheltenham-born footballer who was educated locally at Glenfall and Balcarras before embarking on his two year scholarship with the Cheltenham Town Academy. Under the guidance of Russell Milton he flourished and his reward was a professional debut handed to him by Mark Yates last season.

Bobbie Dale, 18, is another young prospect who impressed under the guidance of Russell Milton in the youth team over the past two seasons.

He proved to be a natural goalscorer in the Academy setup and he was handed his professional debut as a substitute in the 3-1 loss to Plymouth Argyle back in August.

The youngsters will now be working closely with fitness coach Ian Hutton on his strength and conditioning ahead of the 2014-15 campaign.

James Bowen and Adam Powell were the other two scholars offered professional terms by the club at the end of last season.
