The Robins Flying Squad returns this weekend and Stagecoach West are throwing their full weight behind it.
Cheltenham Town are jumping onboard with Stagecoach West to re-launch the club’s popular Flying Squad for this Saturday’s big game against Oxford United.
The Flying Squad, which is aimed at Junior Schools and junior football clubs as well as groups such as brownies and cubs, took off for the first time last year.
“The most pleasing thing was how many youngsters came to a football game for the first time to be part of the Robins Flying Squad and went home with a big smile on their face,” said Club Director Tim Russon.
The Flying Squad form a Guard of Honour on match day to welcome the two teams onto the Abbey Business Stadium pitch and also get to do a lap of honour around the ground wearing their special t-shirts and waving Robins’ Flags. This weekend we will be welcoming the Tewkesbury Town Colts and the Tewkesbury Town Pumas.
Stagecoach West who have been backing the club for some years have now signed up as the official sponsor of the Flying Squad and are supporting other club initiatives aimed at young fans.
Nathan Griffith-Williams, Marketing Manager of Stagecoach West, said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Flying Squad as well as other activities with Cheltenham Town’s young fans. We have a fantastic relationship with the club and we look forward to an exciting and vibrant partnership.”
“It’s great to have Stagecoach West backing the Flying Squad and helping us drive the plans we have to build closer links with the community and engage with more schools and young groups,” added Tim Russon.
Any schools or groups who are interested in taking part in the Flying Squad should contact the club on 01242 573558 or using info@ctfc.com.
