Former Cheltenham and Chelsea Academy left-back Jordan Tabor has passed away.

We are saddened to hear of the news that former player Jordan Tabor has passed away.

Left-sided player Jordan Tabor linked up with Cheltenham Town during the 2009 pre-season campaign having been released by Chelsea at the age of 18.

Jordan started his career in the Leicester City academy then spent four years with Chelsea, the second two of them as a Scholar, and he made a number of appearances for the Under-18 side and played twice for the reserves.

Primarily a left-back, he was occasionally used as an attacking left winger because of his crossing ability and skill at set pieces.

Jordan did well enough during pre-season for Robins manager Martin Allen to offer him non-contract terms and he spent the first three months of 2009-10 at Cheltenham Town, playing regularly for the reserves and making one first team appearance and being named among the substitutes five times.

Jordan left the club in October and played for Southern League Didcot Town before spending time in the USA on a sports scholarship and turning out for OC Blues Strikers (a team attached to the professional LA Blues club) in the United Soccer Leagues development competition.

Upon returning to England he played in the Hellenic League for Kidlington and AFC Hinksey.

The sad news of Jordan's death reached us this morning. Our thoughts and condolences are with Jordan's family and friends at this difficult time.
