Goals from Jordan Wynter, Mathieu Manset and Omari Sterling-James earned Cheltenham Town their first Final Third Development Cup group stage victory of the season against Plymouth Argyle.

Trial pair Ryan Burge and Andre Ntambue both aquitted themselves well for the Robins, with all three goals coming in the second half.

Dutch forward Ntambue started up front with Manset in a 3-5-2 formation and he set up the first with a run and cross on the left which ended with a low cross for Wynter to tap in at the near post two minutes after the break.

Jason Banton, who had a goal ruled out for offside in the first half, was then close to netting a leveller for Argyle, seeing a shot flash wide of the far post, but Manset made it 2-0 in the 61st minute, racing onto a fine pass from Joe Hanks, evading Argyle's offside trap and finishing confidently past James Bittner.

Substitute Omari Sterling-James made it 3-0 in the 70th minute, taking advantage of some poor defending from the visitors.

Cheltenham will be hoping for more of the same when they host Argyle's first team in League Two on Saturday (3pm).
