Defender puts pen to paper

Cheltenham Town have today completed the signing of defender Jordan Cranston from Gateshead for an undisclosed fee.

Cranston has put pen to paper on an 18-month deal with after moving from National League rivals Gateshead as Gary Johnson brings reinforcements to his defensive unit.

Following completion of the relevant papers, Cranston will now be eligible to play against Bromley this afternoon.

The defender moved to Gateshead in the Summer of 2015 playing 23 times and scoring once- against the Robins in October.

Cranston has played for the Wales U19 squad and started his career at Wolverhampton Wanderers. From there he had spells at Nuneaton Town, Hednesford Town, Notts County and Lincoln before joining Neil Aspin's side.

Cranston becomes Johnson's fourth signing of the January transfer window alongside Dan Holman, Cian Harries and Cameron Burgess.
