Midfielder keen to kick on
Cheltenham Town midfielder Harry Pell is pleased with the team's start to the season, but knows there is still much to be done.
Since moving to the Robins during the summer, Pell is enjoying life with his new club and their start to life in the National League, " I've enjoyed it, it's really nice to be unbeaten, I think that's very important looking at the big picture. Of course i'd like to have a few more wins on the board but for what ever reasons we haven't quite done it.
Overall I think it's not the worst start but I think we all know it could have been better. We need to take the positives from it and look forward."
Manager Gary Johnson has spoken about the need for fast starts to matches, but Pell can't put his finger on why the Robins failed to do so at Chester on Tuesday, " I don't think there's a specific reason. As a team I think we all know that it wasn't right. I'm sure the gaffer will be in our ears during the video analysis, he knows what he wants and how to get it done.
We know that it didn't go right for us on Tuesday and will be doing everything possible to get it right in the future."
Harry has played most of his football in central midfield, but has so far operated on the right side of a diamond or on the right of midfield. However he doesn't mind where he plays, he just wants to be involved, " It's a little bit different for me. I've never been a right midfielder before. But if the manager asked me to go in goal i'd go in goal! I just want to be part of a winning team.
"There are some aspects of my game that suits being out wide like driving with the ball. It's not like I'm a right winger, I'm a centre-mid so I can tuck in and we've got some players who can pick passes so it's not like I'm stuck out on the right."
Being one of the promotion favourites, the former Hereford and AFC Wimbledon midfielder is thriving under the pressure, " It's good for us, playing for Cheltenham we are expected to do well so it's good to play under pressure for three points every week because the mentality is that we have to win the game. So going into this game we know the pressure is on, it was the same against Southport.
We need to turn those draws into wins but I think if we can win on Saturday we'll be happy, it will give us some momentum to hopefully push on."
