Gary Johnson makes eighth new summer signing

Cheltenham Town have signed former Forest Green Rovers striker Danny Wright on a one year deal.

The 30-year-old target man becomes the second front player brought to Whaddon Road by boss Gary Johnson in two days, following Billy Waters' arrival from Crewe Alexandra on Monday.

Wright has been on the books of Histon, Cambridge United, Wrexham, Forest Green, Gateshead and Kidderminster and has scored 88 goals in his senior career.

He joined Harriers from Gateshead last January on a deal until the end of the season, but he was quickly indentified as Johnson's primary attacking target early in the close season period.

Already based in Gloucestershire, Wright in Cheltenham's eighth new signing since the end of last term and he will link up with his new team mates on the first day of pre-season training on Wednesday.
