Charlton Athletic at home
Cheltenham Town will take on Charlton Athletic in the first round of the newly-named EFL Cup at Whaddon Road.The match is currently in for Wednesday 10th August but we will bring you more information when the time & date are officially confirmed.
Robins boss Gary Johnson reacted to the draw by saying, " It's a great fixture for the club. Especially being at home and against a team with the history of Charlton it is likely to bring in a large crowd.
"Russell Slade, the Charlton boss who I took over from at Yeovil, did a fantastic job at Cardiff and is undoubtedly the man to put the club back together and put it back where it belongs. It will be a very difficult game but is one that I am really excited about!"
