Cheltenham Town visit Bishop's Cleeve tonight

Three trialists in squad to face Mitres

Cheltenham Town visit Bishop's Cleeve this evening for a pre-season friendly at Kayte Lane (7.30pm kick-off).

Boss Gary Johnson will use the match to ensure every member of his squad has enough minutes under their belt as the new Vanarama National League season approaches.

He is also looking at two trialists from the start: defender Sam Jones and former Bristol City midfielder Gus Mafuta.  Ex-Blackburn Rovers centre-half Jones started pre-season training on day one with the Robins, having appeared in the trial match at Winchcombe School.

Goalkeeper Rhys Lovett, formerly with Rochdale, will be on the bench, while Jordan Wynter and Asa Hall will both make their first starts since respective knee and Achilles injuries.

The Robins host Cardiff City on Wednesday (7.45pm) before rounding off their preparations for the big kick-off at League Two AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, August 1 (3pm).

Cheltenham have so far beaten Cirencester Town (3-0), Evesham United (7-3) and Weston-super-Mare (3-0), before going down 3-1 at home to League One Sheffield United last Tuesday. They then saw off League Two newcomers Bristol Rovers 2-1 on Saturday at the World of Smile Stadium.

* Admission tonight will be £5 for adults and free for Under-16s.

Cheltenham Town: Kitscha, Wynter, Jones, Hanks, Bowen, Page, Mafutu, Hall, Kotwica, Dale, Williams.
