Prospect Bowen Goes Pro

1 July 2014

Academy graduate James Bowen has today signed his first professional contract with the club.

Young full-back James Bowen has put pen to paper on his first professional contract this morning.

James, 18, was one of four scholars who were offered professional terms back in May and he signed the contract earlier today as the players begin their first day of pre-season training.

Bowen is a left back by trade but can operate on the left wing in a more advanced role. He was one of many prospects who impressed under the guidance of Russell Milton during his scholarship years and he joins Adam Powell, Harry Williams and Bobbie Dale in going pro.

The Worcester-based youngster spent time out on loan with Evesham United and he scored twice during that time.

In other news, the players began their pre-season training this morning with a fitness session but they will undertake a football session later this afternoon too. They will be present at the University of Gloucestershire tomorrow to undergo fitness tests.
