Many Happy Returns For Benno

Benno Back For His Birthday

It will be many happy returns for one time Robins' skipper Alan Bennett when he comes back to Whaddon Road with Wimbledon at the weekend.
Saturday is Benno's birthday and he's looking forward to being back in Cheltenham to celebrate.
"I had a great time at Cheltenham and have lots of good memories, so I'm really looking forward to coming back," said Benno.
One special memory Benno has is of another birthday - his first with the Robins.
" We were playing Wycombe that night in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and although I wasn't in the team ,the crowd were singing Happy Birthday. It was a surprise but it made me feel very welcome and proved what a friendly bunch Cheltenham are."
This season the Dons have beaten Luton,Southend,Burton and Morecambe but are still in mid-table just a point behind the Robins.
" It's been a bit frustrating because we've got potential and had some great performances and encouraging results but we've also slipped up more than we should have.
"I reckon Saturday promises to be a great game because Cheltenham have had a similar start and they too have got potential.
Amazingly my old playing partner Steve Elliott is the only first-teamer left from my days and that goes to show just how quickly football changes," added Benno.
