Baker: Every Game Has Meaning

28 February 2014

Paul Baker has called on players, management and fans alike to give everything from now until the end of the season.

Robins chairman Paul Baker has issued a rallying call ahead of this weekend's game at home to Bury.

A strong victory away at Newport County last weekend was quickly followed by a disappointing 4-1 defeat at home to Chesterfield and now the Robins face a resurgent Bury side blossoming under the management of David Flitcroft.

The game, which kicks off at 3pm on Saturday, will give Mark Yates and his players the opportunity they need to bounce back from the midweek loss to the league leaders but Paul Baker wants 100% from everyone from now until the end of the season.

"I would like to thank the fans on Tuesday night," he said.

"Despite trailing 4-0 at half time they got behind the team in the second half. That is true support and the type of support we will need for our remaining matches. It has been and remains a very tight league outside of the top seven.

"Every game now has meaning, our players will have to show true grit, strong character and togetherness. The Board must remain cohesive and focussed, the management team must work even harder to coach, enthuse and motivate and bring in new players who can improve the side, have experience and are battle hardened."

You can read more from Paul Baker in this weekend's programme and his 'From The Boardroom' column. Priced at just £3 they are available to buy in the club shop and the programme sellers across the stadium.

Don't forget that school, college and university students can watch this weekend's game for just £1. Click here for more information.
