Rob Lainton Joins the Robins on an Emergency Loan Deal

7 April 2017

Welcome Rob!

Goalkeeper Rob Lainton has today joined the Robins on a seven day emergency loan from Bury.

The loan is necessary as Scott Brown is unable to play against his parent club (Wycombe) tomorrow and back-up keeper Calum Kitscha is injured.

Having come through the youth ranks at Bolton and being named in many squads in the premier league, 27 year-old Rob moved to Bury in 2013 and has also had a loan spell at Burton Albion.

Emergency loans are permitted if a club does not have a keeper available who has made a minimum of five first team appearances.

Rob will train with the squad today and will be in the starting 11 tomorrow at Adams Park.
