Reading Duo Sign

22 November 2012

Lawson D'Ath renews stay and Wales U21 international Jake Taylor joins on loan.

Cheltenham Town have this afternoon sealed the loan signings of Reading duo Lawson D'Ath and Jake Taylor.

Lawson has renewed his current loan deal until Wednesday 2 January and Jake has signed a deal which will end on the same date. Jake Taylor will go straight into the squad this weekend to face Barnet but Lawson is still recovering from a knee injury and will be back for the Hereford FA Cup tie.

Lawson D'Ath is currently on loan at the club but is only just returning from a knee injury. He scored on his debut for the club in a 3-0 win over Exeter City and he also played 45 minutes against Yate Town in the FA Cup first round but a knee injury has sidelined him since.

Jake Taylor is a Wales Under 21 international and comes highly recommended by the Reading backroom staff. The attacking midfielder, who can also play on the wing, has represented Wales at Under 17 and 19 level. He has now made ten appearances for the Under 21 squad and he captained the side in their most recent game. He has been with Reading since the age of 8 and has made one senior appearance for the club as a substitute v. Northampton in the League Cup back in 2010.

He has spent time out on loan with Aldershot Town in 2011 but it was with Exeter City last season that he made a real impact. The 20 year-old made 30 appearances for the Grecians last season in League One and he scored three goals.

You can see Jake in action this weekend when the Robins host Barnet FC and former AC Milan and Ajax midfielder Edgar Davids. Buy your tickets online here or, altenatively, ring 01242 573558 (option 1) for the ticket office here at the Abbey BusinessStadium.
